MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Revilla and Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla have offered a reward of P300,000 each for information that could lead to the arrest of the killer of a graduating student of the De La Salle University (DLSU) in Dasmariñas City in Cavite on Tuesday.
A special investigation team was created yesterday for the speedy resolution of the robbery and killing of Leanne Daguinsin, 24. The victim was found dead with 14 stab wounds in her room at a dormitory.
“The probe team is coordinating with village chiefs of adjacent barangays to identify the suspect. We have the description and photo of the culprit,” Lt. Col. Juan Oruga Jr., Damariñas police chief, said.
Oruga said the victim’s personal belongings such as cell phone and money were missing.
DLSU-Dasmariñas president Francisco de la Rosa VI said they are coordinating with the Dasmariñas city government to increase police visibility on and off-campus following the incident.
According to Heraldo Filipino, the official student publication of DLSU-Dasmariñas, classes will shift to online synchronous mode from March 31 to April 4. — Ed Amoroso
