Student, 24, stabbed to death in dormitory

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna, Philippines — A student was found dead with 14 stab wounds in her room at a dormitory in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Tuesday afternoon.

The body of Leanne Duguesing, 24, was discovered by the caretaker of the dormitory in Barangay Sta. Fe at around 4:40 p.m. when a classmate of the victim asked if she was in her room.

Village chief Emmanuel Noora reported the incident to the police.

Col. Christopher Olazo, Cavite police director, said pursuit operations for a person of interest in the killing are ongoing.

Probers are eyeing robbery as the motive, citing footage of closed-circuit television cameras at the scene.  There was no indication that the victim was raped.
