MANILA, Philippines — Two people were arrested for alleged indiscriminate firing of a handgun in Quezon City on Thursday night.

Rickie Cabungcal, 31, a security protective agent, and Albert Mago, 40, were drunk when they were caught by operatives of the Anonas police station in Barangay Old Capitol Site at around 10 p.m.

Police responded to a call from a concerned citizen about two people who were firing a gun along Rosal street.

The suspects attempted to escape when they saw police officers and barangay public safety officers approaching them.

Cabungcal was in possession of a .45-caliber pistol when he was arrested. Lawmen also took Mago into custody for resisting.

The suspects are being held on charges of indiscriminate firing of a firearm under Republic Act 11926, alarm and scandal, and resistance and disobedience to a person in authority.
