MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go, chairman of the Senate committee on health and demography, attended the groundbreaking of the Mawab Super Health Center in Davao de Oro on Friday.
In his speech, Go thanked various partners who had come together to make the project a reality, including the Department of Health and local officials led by Rep. Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, Gov. Dorothy Gonzaga, Mayor Ruperto Gonzaga III and Vice Mayor Ruprio Gonzaga.
The senator said the Super Health Center would offer a wide range of health services, such as database management, out-patient, birthing, isolation, diagnostic services, pharmacy and ambulatory surgical units.
Super Health Centers also offer eye, ear, nose and throat service as welll as oncology centers, physical therapy and rehabilitation center, and telemedicine.
To address the growing need for quality healthcare in the country, Go advocated funding for the construction of 307 Super Health Centers across the country last year. He also pushed for additional funds in this year’s health budget to ensure that additional Super Health Centers are constructed in other parts of the country.
Go said he remains committed to create convenient access to medical assistance programs through the Malasakit Centers at the Davao de Oro Provincial Hospital in Laak, Montevista, Maragusan and Pantukan and Davao Regional Medical Center in Tagum City.
