Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers confiscated around 114 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P775,200 from six suspects in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Arrested by operatives of the police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) were Christopher Murillo, 42; Dino Salazar, 34; Roldan Comendador, 22; Miko Sampaga, 22, and two minors.

PDEG director Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo said the suspects were apprehended during a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Unang Sigaw at around 2 a.m.

Prior to the raid, a police officer went undercover and negotiated a deal with the suspects for drugs in their possession.

Apart from shabu, police said they seized a cell phone, a digital weighing scale and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.

The minors were turned over to social welfare and development officers while the other suspects are being held on charges of drug trafficking.

In Pateros, a 70-year-old man was nabbed yesterday in a sting that yielded around 1,800 grams of marijuana worth P216,000.

Estelito Raymundo Sr., who was on the drug watchlist of the Southern Police District, was arrested in Barangay San Pedro.

Raymundo allegedly accepted P5,500 in marked money for a pack of marijuana.
