MANILA, Philippines — A car ended up stuck on the tracks of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) Beata station along Tomas Claudio street in Pandacan, Manila yesterday morning.

According to reports, the driver, who is a foreigner, and his companion used navigation app Waze on their way home to Makati from Adriatico street in Manila.

Pandacan police station 10 commander Capt. Michael Locsin said the victims were “misled by Waze.”

“They believed that the app made a mistake of directing them to the PNR tracks,” Locsin said in Filipino.

The driver may have miscalculated the route and gotten confused, he added.

Police said they received the report at around 4:20 a.m. The two passengers of the car were both unharmed.

The car got stuck in between the railroad tracks on the edge of falling into the river, Locsin said.

The PNR halted its operations due to the incident.

Locsin said they asked help from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to lift the car from the PNR tracks.
