LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A barangay councilman was wounded in a gun attack in Alcala town on Tuesday.
Melvin Posadas, 41, of Barangay Canarvacanan was standing in front of his house when motorcycle-riding men approached and opened fire.
Posadas was taken for treatment to a hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
Three bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the scene.
Meanwhile, in Antipolo City, tricycle driver Sandy Ramos was shot dead in Barangay San Luis on Tuesday night.
Probers are eyeing a land dispute as the motive for the killing.
Ramos reportedly illegally occupied a parcel of land in Sitio Kalupa.
