Quezon City sets up online payment system for ordinance, traffic violations

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government has established an online system for the payment of fines due to ordinance and traffic violations.

According to Mayor Joy Belmonte, the online payment system for ordinance violation receipts (OVRs) is part of the city government’s efforts to automate all business transactions and processes in Quezon City.

“Violators can no longer reason out that they cannot pay fines because they do not have time to go to the city hall,” she said in Filipino yesterday.

Dexter Cardenas, officer-in-charge of the city’s Traffic and Transport Management Department, said the online payment process will help encourage violators to settle their fines.

Violators may visit the QC e-services website (https://qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph) and register to create an account.

After registration, they may click the “OVR Online Payment” icon in the QC E-Services and enter their OVR number.

Violators have an option to pay online via GCash, PayMaya and PayGate or over the counter via Landbank fund transfer. They also have the option to pay manually at the QC OVR Redemption Center or at any Landbank branch.

Once the manual payment is complete, they may send the photo of the order of payment and validated deposit slip to [email protected] to have their transaction recorded and marked as paid.

After receiving an email from the city treasurer’s office, traffic violators may claim their official receipt at the QC OVR Redemption Center, while city ordinance violators may get it at the information or receiving counter of the Department of Public Order and Safety.

The process may take two to three working days or more, depending on the volume of online applications, the city government said.
