BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Authorities foiled an attempt by a still unidentified man to sneak out 242 kilos of dried marijuana bricks valued at P29.04 million in Lubuagan town on Thursday.
The marijuana bricks were found in an abandoned vehicle, whose driver ignored a checkpoint in Barangay Dinakan.
The driver fled on foot after sensing that he was being pursued by police officers, according to Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar.
Meanwhile, in Cotabato City, anti-narcotics agents seized shabu with an estimated street value of P421,600 from a police officer and his two companions following a sting in Barangay Rosary Heights 10 on Thursday.
Pat. Jassim Mohammad Aking and his companions – Sandatu Macmod and Fatima Usman – are currently detained at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency facility.
Aking is reportedly assigned in one of the units of the Bangsamoro police. – John Unson
