Drones banned near Valenzuela jails
MANILA, Philippines — Drones are now prohibited from flying near jails and police custodial facilities in Valenzuela City.
Under Ordinance 1069 passed by the city council last December, unmanned aircraft vehicles and remotely piloted aircraft must not be flown within 100 meters from detention facilities of the Bureau of Jail
Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Valenzuela police.
Those who want to fly drones near jails, whether for business or recreational purposes, should request for a permit from the city government.
Exempted from the prohibition are law enforcers and BJMP personnel.
Violators will be fined P1,000 for the first offense, P3,000 for second offense and P5,000 for the third time.
Those found guilty of unauthorized flying of drones will be penalized with up to 30 days in prison and fined P5,000.
