BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Nine passengers of a boat that capsized in the waters off the coast of EB Magalona town in Negros Oriental were rescued yesterday.
The victims were on their way to Manapla town when the boat capsized shortly after midnight on Thursday.
The passengers were spotted clinging to the capsized boat by a group of fishermen off the coast of Barangays Tomongtong and Gahit at around 8 a.m. yesterday.
The nine are now in stable condition and endorsed by the EB Magalona Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the local government units of Manapla and Ajuy.
