MANILA, Philippines — The seven-day COVID positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) spiked slightly on Friday, the OCTA Research group reporteyesterday.

OCTA fellow Guido David said Metro Manila’s COVID positivity rate increased to 2.4 percent from 2.0 percent on Jan. 26.

On Jan. 20, OCTA said the NCR’s positivity rate – the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID among the total number of persons tested – was at 2.5 percent.

“The seven-day positivity rate in the NCR inched back up to 2.4 percent on Jan. 27 from 2.0 percent just a day ago,” David said.

“We will continue to monitor COVID cases in Metro Manila in the next few days to see if the trend continues upward,” he added.
