3 Africans arrested for P18.7 million shabu
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents seized three kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P18.7 million from three Africans in Cavite and Pampanga yesterday.
Ebuka Ezike, who was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Biclatan in General Trias City at around 9 a.m., reportedly yielded shabu worth P17 million.
The suspect allegedly negotiated a deal with an agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) who posed as a buyer of 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon said three cell phones, a laptop and four identification cards were recovered from the suspect.
The PDEA said Ezike is from Africa, but has yet to determine his nationality.
In Pampanga, two Nigerians were arrested for alleged possession of shabu worth P1.7 million in Angeles City.
Chekwbe Nnamani Sunday, alias David, a resident of Barangay Dau in Mabalacat City, and Ifeanyi Augustine Chinweuba, alias Fanny, a resident of Sampaloc, Manila, were apprehended at a terminal in Barangay Pulung Maragul.
Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen of the Central Luzon police said probers are verifying if the suspects have links with the West Africa drug syndicate. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Ric Sapnu
