Parañaque, DSWD to preposition relief goods

MANILA, Philippines — Paranaque City residents are now assured of an immediate supply of relief goods during disasters and other emergencies.

Mayor Eric Olivarez and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) National Capital Region director Monina Josefina Romualdez signed a memorandum of agreement on Friday for the prepositioning of 1,000 boxes of relief supplies in the city during calamities.

Under the agreement, the DSWD assures an immediate delivery of relief supplies for residents in areas in Parañaque that are prone to disasters.

City administrator Voltaire dela Cruz and other DSWD officials were present during the signing.

Aside from delivery of relief goods, the DSWD will also hold programs such as assistance to individuals and families in crisis situations.
