MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics officers confiscated 530 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P3.6 million during a sting in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City on Friday.
Arrested during the buy-bust operation were Fahima Matula and Jhonix Casanova, who are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office drug enforcement unit at the corner of Quirino Avenue and 4 de Julio street at around 9 p.m., NCRPO public information office chief Maj. Anthony Alising said.
Meanwhile, police arrested a drug suspect in Taguig City on Friday.
Bernardo Tinga, 56, was apprehended when policemen raided his house along P. Mariano street in Barangay Ususan at around 8:30 p.m., according to Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft.
Police seized 14 grams of shabu valued at P95,200 and a .45 caliber handgun from Tinga.
