Panagbenga: Traffic, security plans in place
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — High-level traffic and security arrangements are in place for the celebration of the Panagbenga Festival in this city next month.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong said traffic and security plans were laid down and reviewed for improvement and finalization during a recent meeting attended by members of the Panagbenga executive committee and concerned city government and line agencies.
He said the security measures would address crowd control, crime prevention and security threats for the convenience and safety of participants and guests.
The city police traffic enforcement unit and traffic and transportation management division will come up with plans to be disseminated to the public to minimize traffic congestion and discomfort among residents, Magalong added.
An online traffic mitigation system, which uses QR codes, will provide motorists information on closed or inacessible roads as well alternate routes.
The system will also provide information on public utility vehicle terminals and parking lots.
