MANILA, Philippines — A 15-year-old boy stabbed his classmate to death along the hallway of a high school building in Quezon City yesterday.
The incident at the Culiat High School in Barangay Culiat occurred at around 5:45 a.m., police said.
The suspect, a Grade 7 student, approached his classmate, a 13-year-old boy, and stabbed the victim with a knife.
The suspect then fled to an unknown destination as horrified teachers sought help for the victim.
The victim was dead when he was brought by rescuers to the New Era General Hospital.
The suspect was apprehended by police officers in a follow-up operation.
According to investigators, the two boys are residents of the Salaam Compound, a Muslim community in Quezon City.
Probers are looking at misunderstanding brought by jealousy as a possible motive for the attack. They did not elaborate.
The case was turned over to the Quezon City Police District’s criminal investigation and detection unit.
