MANILA, Philippines — Two vloggers learned the hard way that pulling off a prank, which affects the work of emergency responders, has consequences.
Jonel Cordero and Arnold Rabi are facing charges after they staged a prank at a gasoline station in Barangay Poblacion in Mawab, Davao de Oro on Wednesday.
Cordero pretended to drink the gasoline he bought for P10, which was placed in an empty softdrink bottle. He then acted as if he was dizzy and vomiting while Rabi recorded him on video.
Gas station employees called the Mawab Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for assistance.
As emergency responders were applying first aid, Cordero declared that he and Rabi were just pulling a prank.
Police, who were alerted by members of the rescue team, arrested the vloggers.
The Davao regional police office reminded the public to avoid performing pranks that may not only create ”chaos, alarm and disturbance” but also waste the resources of any person.
Maj. Delia Gesultura, Mawab police chief, said a case for alarm and scandal was set to be filed against the vloggers yesterday. – Dian Lhyd Suelto
