Woman nabbed for P1.36 million shabu from South Africa
MANILA, Philippines — A woman was arrested after she accepted a parcel, which contained 200 grams of shabu worth P1.36 million in a controlled delivery operation in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Friday night.
Georgette Elio, 24, was apprehended by operatives of the police Drug Enforcement Group and Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group at a subdivision in Barangay Salawag at around 6 p.m., PDEG director Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo said.
He said the package, which was declared as “deep tissue massage,” originated from South Africa and was shipped by a certain Thea Kruger.
Elio is being held on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
The seized shabu was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper documentation and disposition. – Rudy Santos
