Hungarian man reported missing in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Authorities are searching for a Hungarian citizen who has been reported missing in Bago City, Negros Occidental since Jan. 9.

Jane Alvarez reported to the police that her partner Lazzlo Matyas, 63, was missing when she returned to their home in Barangay Sampinit.

Matyas arrived in Bago on Oct. 6 last year to be with Alvarez. The two met through an online dating app.

Two persons said they last saw Matyas walking along the shoreline and attempting to cross the Sibud creek, city police chief Lt. Col. Joem Malong said.
