Batanes cop returns P15,000 wrongly sent to GCash account

MANILA, Philippines — A woman from Quezon City thought she already lost P15,000 cash she sent through mobile wallet app GCash to a wrong recipient.

Luckily for her, the recipient was an honest police officer who returned the money to her.

The policeman is S/Sgt Anselmo Gari Jr., who is assigned with the Sabtang municipal police station in Batanes.

A statement from the Sabtang police said Gari was surprised when he received the money from a certain Rose last Jan. 5. Rose asked for the money to be sent back to her.

The Sabtang police said Gari did not hesitate and called her up to confirm if she was indeed the sender. Gari immediately returned the money to Rose.
