MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released its service recognition incentives (SRIs) for its personnel.
PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said yesterday the 227,604 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the PNP received their SRIs on Jan. 4.
Based on the report he received from the PNP Finance Service, Azurin said all qualified personnel received P7,000 each.
Azurin said the release of a one-time SRI to government workers through the order of President Marcos under Executive Order No. 1 is in recognition of their collective and invaluable contribution to the government’s continuing efforts to ensure the responsive delivery of services to the public, especially in the midst of the continuing public health emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other socio-economic challenges.
“On behalf of the men and women of the PNP, we express our gratitude to the President for granting SRI to our PNP personnel and other government employees in the country,” he said in a statement.
The SRI amount received was subjected to 25 percent to 30 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Law or Republic Act 10963.
