MANILA, Philippines — Relief goods brought by three helicopters have been distributed to victims of flashfloods in Misamis Occidental.
Negros Oriental third district Rep. Arnolfo Teves sent the relief goods, which were flown to Oroquieta City recently.
“Several bridges were destroyed by floods and landslides, cutting off land transportation and stranding hundreds if not thousands of people. The victims needed our immediate assistance,” he said.
The three helicopters were loaded with packed meals, rice and clothes.
Misamis Occidental was placed under a state of calamity due to the damage caused by flooding. Six persons died and 49 barangays were affected.
