MANILA, Philippines — Three people, including a minor, drowned in Quezon City when heavy rains hit Metro Manila on Friday.
A report from Quezon City Police District said two of the victims were men aged 35 to 40 who drowned in a river along Del Monte Avenue in Barangay Talayan between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Their remains were discovered three meters apart yesterday. The first body was discovered at around 4:50 a.m. and the other around 6 a.m.
Probers said the victims drowned after heavy rains flooded their community.
Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy drowned in a creek along G. Araneta Avenue on Friday.
The victim and three other boys were initially spotted swimming along a flooded road but later transferred to the creek.
Two were rescued while another boy remains missing.
