Delivery rider held for sexual harassment

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A delivery rider accused of sexually harassing a woman for two months was arrested in Quezon City on Monday.

Anthony Fernandez, 45, a rider of online delivery services company Lalamove, was collared in an entrapment operation along Congressional Avenue in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

Fernandez’s arrest stemmed from the complaint of a 33-year-old woman that he has been harassing her since Nov. 7 last year.

The victim, a customer service agent, said she has been receiving lewd messages from a cell phone number.

She sought police assistance after Fernandez unwittingly sent another message on Monday using his official Lalamove account number.

Charges of violating Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act are being readied against Fernandez, police said.
