MANILA, Philippines — A Vietnamese was arrested in Makati on Sunday after he allegedly received a package, which contained shabu worth P6,800 from a delivery rider who felt suspicious about the parcel he was delivering.
Nguyen Luong Hai, 30, was nabbed during a sting in front of a condominium building in Barangay San Lorenzo, the Southern Police District said.
Probers said a 43-year-old delivery rider of ride-hailing app Grab went to the Makati police and turned over a bag he received from a delivery booking.
The rider said he received the item from a woman and a Vietnamese citizen at a condominium building in Barangay Bel-Air.
He said he asked about the bag’s contents but they ignored him.
Suspicious of the package’s contents, he went to the police station.
Hai is being held on drug charges.
In Pasig, police seized around 15 grams of shabu from two suspects on Monday.
The suspects, identified only as Tess and Jon-Jon, were apprehended in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, the Eastern Police District said in a report.
They were taken into custody after they allegedly sold P12,000 worth of shabu to a police officer who posed as a buyer.
