2 die in Aklan road mishap

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Two persons died while seven others were injured in a vehicular accident in Nabas, Aklan yesterday.

Monica Villanueva, 19, and Ma. Cassandra Manansala, 2, were declared dead on arrival at the Ibajay District Hospital, according to Capt. Moonyen de Joseph, Nabas police chief.

The seven others were taken to the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbukon Memorial Hospital in nearby Kalibo town for treatment of injuries.

Reports said the victims were among 28 people in a utility vehicle driven by Raul Buiza, 54.

The victims were on their way to Hurom-Hurom Cold Spring Resort in Barangay Laserna when they figured in the accident, probers said.

Investigation is ongoing.
