Fire hits Parañaque; 2 hurt, 160 families homeless
MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were injured in a fire that struck a residential area in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City early yesterday morning.
Arson probers identified the victims as Roel Cipriano, 37, and Wilfredo Danilo, 53.
Danilo suffered second degree burns while Cipriano had multiple lacerations and a fractured right arm.
The fire destroyed at least 100 houses.
According to a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the blaze broke out at a house along Bigornia street, Tramo Uno at past 3 a.m.
The fire displaced at least 160 families, the BFP said.
The fire reached the fifth alarm at 3:51 a.m. and was declared under control at 6:14 a.m.
Damage to property was estimated at P400,000.
Arson probers said they have yet to establish the cause of the fire.
