1 ton hot meat, frozen products confiscated

Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Around a ton of hot meat and mishandled frozen products were seized in Parañaque City on Thursday.

The meat products were confiscated from a cold storage facility along Salinas street in Barangay San Dionisio.

Personnel from the city veterinary services office conducted a surprise inspection at the facility at around 5 a.m. following information that mishandled meat products were stored in the area.

Most of the meat items were rotten and unsafe for human consumption.

An investigation revealed the storage facility has no business permit from the city government, which said it immediately disposed of the meat products to protect the public.
