MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected thieves of cable wires owned by Bayan Telecommunications were arrested in Quezon City on Thursday, police reported yesterday.

Michael Felix, 24, and John John Barroga, 18, were apprehended in Barangay Siena at around 4:30 a.m., according to Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre.

Lawmen conducting an anti-crime patrol operation spotted the duo stealing copper cable wires at the corner of Sto. Domingo and Sta. Catalina streets.

Around 600 pairs of Bayantel’s cable wires with a street value of P65,101 were confiscated from the suspects, who face charges of violating Republic Act 10515, the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act.
