Woman held for P8.5 million Ecstasy from France
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents arrested a woman after she accepted a parcel, which contained 5,032 pieces of party drug Ecstasy valued at P8.55 million, during a controlled delivery operation in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Wednesday.
Joy Bautista, 23, was apprehended by operatives of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group at a gasoline station in Barangay Dita at around 3 p.m.
A report from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said Bautista received the package, which originated from France.
The illegal drugs were hidden in stuffed toys.
Records show that a certain Victoria Bautista shipped the illegal drugs. - Ed Amoroso
