ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A Malaysian was arrested in a sting in this city on Friday night.

Imran bin Muhalir, alias Imran bin Muhazir, 22, reportedly sold an undetermined amount of shabu to undercover agents of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Calarian, according to Col. Alexander Lorenzo, chief of the Zamboanga City police.

The suspect was included in the list of high-value targets of the PDEA and the police, Lorenzo said.

The suspect, said to be a businessman, had been illegally entering Zamboanga City and Tawi-Tawi.

Police said they seized from Muhazir a plastic sachet believed to contain shabu with an estimated street value of P68,000, marked money and P4,590 cash in different denominations.

Lorenzo said the seized items were brought to the PDEA Zamboanga City Field Unit for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, in Cavite, a drug suspect – identified as Dalis Muhaji – was wounded in alleged shootout in Ternate.

Police said that although wounded, Muhaji managed to escape along with his two companions.
