MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at a residential area behind a hospital in Caloocan City on Friday, destroying eight houses.

Martirez Memorial Hospital personnel evacuated some of its patients when the fire, which reached first alarm, spread along A. Mabini street in Barangay 32 at around 3:38 p.m. Firefighters on six Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) trucks worked to put out the blaze at around 4:50 p.m.

The patients were brought back after the fire was put out. No one was killed or hurt in the fire, the BFP said, adding that the cause of the fire and estimated property damage have yet to be determined.
