Makati lauds 128 city hall employees
MANILA, Philippines — For their long years of service to Makati residents, the city government commended yesterday 128 employees, most of whom are retiring this year.
Mayor Abigail Binay led the awarding ceremony for 26 civil servants who have served the city for over three decades.
City hall employees who have rendered at least 10 years in public service received the Loyalty Service awards.
Binay also paid tribute to 102 workers who will retire this year.
“This is our way of demonstrating our appreciation for their hard work and dedication,” she said.
Binay expressed hope that the award would encourage other city hall employees to perform their duties with the same level of commitment.
Among those who were recognized were public safety department chief Arlyn Dulay, Aurelia Albarracin, who heads the business permits office, and city health department head Corazon Yabut.
Seventeen employees were recognized for over 30 years of service.
Binay said the award, first implemented in 2016, is one of their initiatives to recognize excellence in public service.
Aside from certificates of recognition and a commemorative pin, 40-year awardees each received P35,000 in cash. Employees who have served for 30 years were given P25,000 each.
Binay said city hall employees would continue to receive P5,000 every five years while in service.
