Truck falls into irrigation canal; 2 dead

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Two persons died and four others were injured when an Elf truck plunged into an irrigation canal in Purok 6 Tuliao, Barangay Calanan in Tabuk, Kalinga early yesterday.

The fatalities were identified as Edwin Capuyan and Jayson Quinio.

Cesar Camtugan, the driver of the truck, was among those wounded.

Probers said the victims were heading to Barangay Manag in Conner, Apayao when the accident occurred.

Camtugan said he lost control of the wheel while driving down a curved portion of the road.
