MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has chosen five malls in the National Capital Region for its “register anywhere” campaign, an official said yesterday.
Comelec spokesman Rex Laudiangco said the registration sites are located at SM Mall of Asia, SM Fairview, SM Southmall, Robinsons Galleria and Robinsons Manila.
“If you’re not a Metro Manila resident and you want to vote in your municipality and it so happened that you’re here in the metropolis, you can go to these malls to register,” Laudiangco said at a press briefing.
He said thumbprints and biometrics taken at these registration sites would be sent to the municipality or the Comelec branch of the voter.
“This is good for students and workers in Metro Manila who have no time to go to their home provinces,” Laudiangco said.
