POEA sets deadline for license renewal of recruitment firms

Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Recruitment agencies with “extended” licenses have until Nov. 30 to apply for renewal or upgrading, according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

In an advisory over the weekend, POEA officer-in-charge Bernard Olalia reminded recruitment firms to submit their applications for renewal of licenses on or before the deadline.

Olalia said the POEA set a deadline to give its licensing branch enough time to undertake the necessary evaluation.

He noted that the validity of extended licenses of recruitment agencies is set to expire by the end of the year.

“No applications will be accepted after the date of expiration of the license,” he said.

The POEA has allowed the extension of provisional licenses to help recruitment agencies affected by the pandemic.
