Marcos son lauds QCPD
MANILA, Philippines — On its 83rd founding anniversary, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) earned praise for its efforts to address crimes from President Marcos’ son William Vincent.
The President’s son, who was the guest of honor and speaker at the event held at Camp Karingal, lauded QCPD officers led by its district director, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, for their dedication to public service in Quezon City despite the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am looking forward that all of you rise to meet the challenges together and take this opportunity to work better and improve the lives and well-being of the communities,” he said in his speech.
Marcos, clad in a polo shirt and rubber shoes, was welcomed by Torre and other top police officials when he arrived yesterday morning.
Among the programs of the QCPD Marcos mentioned are the information drive and community awareness on crime prevention and regular police visibility.
He also urged QCPD officials to keep communication lines open with the public.
“I urge you to be more open to advice and even complaints while continuing to do our best providing public service,” he said.
Marcos also thanked Torre for allowing them to use the QCPD grandstand for the executive motorcycle rider’s course.
Mayor Joy Belmonte, in her speech read by department of public order and safety head Elmo San Diego, recognized the QCPD’s participation in keeping Quezon City safe from criminals.
Belmonte said through the partnership between the local government and the QCPD, Quezon City will remain peaceful.
