MANILA, Philippines — Actor and television host Vhong Navarro was transferred to the Taguig City jail yesterday, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said.

Navarro is facing complaints for rape and acts of lasciviousness filed by model Deniece Cornejo in 2014.

“After completing the required reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test and other health protocols, he was transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig,” the NBI said.

Navarro has been held at the NBI detention facility since he surrendered to authorities in September.

After posting P36,000 bail for the acts of lasciviousness case upon his surrender, a separate warrant was issued for Navarro’s arrest on rape charges.

Last week, the NBI said it received an order from the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 to commit Navarro to the BJMP facility.

The Court of Appeals had reversed the decision of the Department of Justice dismissing the complaints filed by Cornejo against Navarro.
