Grudge eyed in Quezon town councilor’s killing

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Probers are looking into a grudge as the motive for the killing of Councilor Orlando Barsomo of Dolores, Quezon on Friday.

Capt. Arjon Oxina, Dolores police chief, said a special investigation panel was created to look into the incident.

He said video footage of closed-circuit television cameras at the scene caught the victim having an argument with the gunman.

Oxina said the video footage was sent to the police anti-cybercrime unit for enhancement.

Initial investigation showed Barsomo was jogging by the roadside in Barangay Dagatan when the gunman appeared from behind and shot him thrice.

Probers said no bullet shell was recovered at the scene.
