2 nabbed for businesswoman’s slay in Bulacan
CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan, Philippines — Two persons were arrested in connection with the killing of a businesswoman in Guiguinto, Bulacan on Friday.
Imelda Cabigting was in a tricycle driven by Charlie Arena on their way to the Balagtas Market when the suspects blocked their path and announced a holdup in Purok 2 in Barangay Malis at around 2 a.m., reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, showed.
Cabigting was shot when she refused to give her bag, according to Arena, who managed to escape and seek police assistance.
Arena identified Juan Mejica, who was arrested in a follow-up operation, as one of the suspects.
Mejica identified his accomplice as Leonard Manota, who was arrested at a subdivision in Guiguinto.
