2 Dawlah Islamiya members slain in ‘shootout’
KABACAN, Cotabato, Philippines – Two suspected members of the Dawlah Islamiya were killed in an alleged shootout in this town on Thursday night.
Lt. Col. Irish Parangan of the Kabacan police refused to identify the fatalities pending the arrest of their cohorts.
Police personnel said the shootout occurred along Sunrise street when the suspects opened fire.
Parangan said two caliber .45 pistols were recovered from the fatalities.
The Army’s 90th Infantry Brigade and Kabacan police said a manhunt for four companions of the fatalities is underway.
