4 Chinese POGO workers held in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Four Chinese believed to be working for a Philippine offshore gaming operator or POGO were arrested for alleged alarm and scandal in Pasay on Wednesday.

Mai Jiang Wei, 40; Li Peng, 32; Liu Fei, 41, and Deng Lei, 29, were taken into police custody.

Pasay police chief Col. Byron Tabernilla said lawmen were conducting surveillance at HK Sun Plaza when they saw the Chinese nationals “shouting and making a scene.”

The Chinese are said to be staying at Island Cove in Kawit, Cavite.

Police said the suspects allegedly yielded two sachets of shabu.

The Chinese were detained at the detention facility of the Pasay police.
