MANILA, Philippines — Instead of the traditional traslacion, the Quiapo Church management will hold a “Walk of Faith” during the feast of the Black Nazarene in January next year.

The annual procession of the image of the Black Nazarene will remain suspended in 2023.

“The Walk of Faith will be done for us to gradually return to the practice of having a procession in honor of the Black Nazarene,” Fr. Earl Allyson Valdez of the Quiapo Church said yesterday.

Valdez said the Walk of Faith or “Lakad Pananampalataya” would be held on Jan. 8, a day before the feast of the Black Nazarene.

“It will be an ordinary procession of the devotees of the Black Nazarene. The image will not be displayed during the parade, which will start at the Quirino Grandstand going to the Quaipo Church,” he said.
