Couple visiting Caliraya lake robbed, teen raped

MANILA, Philippines — Criminal charges were filed against two persons who allegedly beat up and robbed a young couple then raped the girl in Lumban, Laguna last week.

Complaints for robbery, illegal possession of firearms, frustrated murder and rape were filed against Danilo Barimbad Jr., 38, and Joseph delos Reyes, 35, before the Laguna provincial prosecutor’s office in Sta. Cruz, Laguna police director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio reported yesterday.

The victims, an 18-year-old and his 17-year-old girlfriend, were on a trip to Caliraya lake when the suspects, who were on a motorcycle, robbed them at the boundary of Barangays Caliraya and Lewin on Friday last week.

Complaints for obstruction of justice were filed against Arlene de Leon, 40, and Maria Rodelia de Leon, 34, for allegedly preventing policemen from arresting the suspects.

The suspects were apprehended over the weekend.
