2 Chinese hurt after jumping from minibus
MANILA, Philippines — Two Chinese men were injured after they jumped from a coaster minibus in Quezon City at dawn yesterday.
Police said a Hyundai County minibus was traveling along G. Araneta Avenue in Barangay Tatalon when two of its passengers jumped from the vehicle at around 3:15 a.m.
Injured were Qing An Liu and Mao Zi, both 29 years old. They were treated by members of a medical response team.
Police said seven more Chinese – six men and a woman -- were found in the minibus. They were Du Qing Qing, 25; Yange Guo, 32; Weibin Du, 33; Xiao Fang Xu, 34; Lin Hai Yong, 21; Yao Hui Lin, 33, and Han Wei Dong, 35. The driver was identified as Jesus Mones, 48.
A report on ABS-CBN News quoted one of the medical responders as saying the vehicle came from Pampanga.
Barangay officials suspect that the Chinese were employees of a Philippine offshore gaming operator or POGO firm as there were computers in the vehicle.
