MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died and three others were injured when a fire struck a residential area in Las Piñas City on Saturday afternoon.
Based on a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP,) the fire broke out at the Mosqueda Compound in Admiral Village, Talon 3 at around 4 p.m.
The BFP said a resident and a fire volunteer died in the blaze. Arson probers have yet to identify the fatalities.
The fire reached second alarm and was declared out at past 6 p.m.
Some 60 houses were destroyed by the fire, which left around 70 families homeless.
Damage to property was estimated at P248,000.
Authorities said they have yet to establish what caused the fire.
