MANILA, Philippines — The Maynilad Water Services Inc. will give a P50 rebate to customers affected by Tropical Storm Paeng.
Around 35,000 Maynilad customers whose homes were flooded will receive a refund in their December water bill.
The rebate comes after Maynilad’s P1.7-million assistance to cover for the average cost of the two-cubic-meter consumption of these customers in portions of Muntinlupa and Pasay as well as Bacoor, Imus, Kawit and Noveleta in Cavite.
The rebate will offset the cost of water that these customers consumed for cleanup after their homes were flooded.
“We hope that this assistance, however small, will be of some help to our customers as they recover and rebuild their homes,” Maynilad president and chief executive officer Ramoncito Fernandez said.
Maynilad’s move to grant a rebate was lauded by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System.
