4 hurt in scaffolding collapse

MANILA, Philippines — Four people were injured after scaffolding collapsed in a building in Quezon City on Friday.

The incident happened in the basement of the building along Monreal street in Barangay E. Rodriguez.

Police investigators said the victims were painting the ceiling when the scaffolding collapsed at around 4:10 p.m.

The clamps of the scaffolding gave way, allegedly due to the weight of the workers, according to probers.

The injured were identified as Wilson San Andres, 47; Domingo Zuniega, 42; Rudy Bello, 41; and Maverick Muscosa, 19.

They were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment of fractures in their legs and arms.
