MANILA, Philippines — A family of six, including four children, died when a fire broke out in their house in Navotas yesterday morning.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the charred bodies of couple Donsito Boiser and Reynosa Muscoso, both 41; their children Raymond, 10; Arriana, 3; and Reinna, 2; and the couple’s niece Natalia Boiser, 14, were all found in one of two rooms on the second floor of their house on Tanigue street in Area 5, Barangay Dagat-dagatan.

The first alarm was raised at around 5:29 a.m. yesterday. The crews of four BFP fire trucks and six more from volunteer groups put out the fire at around 5:44 a.m.

The flames affected only the Boisers’ house as it has a firewall, the local BFP office said, but noted that the second-floor terrace had grills.

Fire investigators have yet to determine what could have caused the fire and the cost of property damage.
